Sebastian Stan is set to take on two contrasting roles in the coming months: former President George W. Bush and a Marvel comic hero. The actor who played Donald Trump in Ali Abbasi’s The Apprentice, shown at Cannes and which will be released on the 11th of October, stated that he felt the pressure when he put on the iconic superhero costume for the film Thunderbolts, set to be shot in May 2025.
Stan recently opened up about his struggles in eradicating the body language he employed for his Trump portrayal when speaking with British GQ. Speaking to the magazine, he simply said, “I went off to Marvel after [The Apprentice].”. He was saying, ‘And we were doing scenes, and I would do something, a thing or two, and be like, Fuck! This is still living somewhere.’ Again, still again, it is living somewhere.’
Specifically, the critics have reacted well to Stan’s acting of Trump, with The Hollywood Reporter’s David Rooney appreciating Stan as doing “more than imitating Trump, he nails him.”
A transition from a political position to a superhero meant that Stan also had to deal with his body language. Before playing a young Trump, Stan said he had to eat Coke and peanut butter and jam sandwiches to put on some weight. But going back to the character of Bucky Barnes, who is also The Winter Soldier, was not an easy task and was further compounded by the recent writers’ and actors’ strikes that have affected the shooting schedules.
‘Sometimes it is difficult to run a lot and then walk, or walk a lot and then run,’ said Stan of the relation between physical intensity. “I’m fuckin’ 41. I just worked pretty hard to get in shape here!”

As Stan transitions between these two characters, fans are presumably waiting for his on-screen portrayal of the two roles.
Sebastian Stan, who has portrayed Donald Trump in the new inflammatory movie The Apprentice, Who struggled to shake off donald trump’s character while filming ‘Thunderbolts’, said that the former president must be grateful for the detailed depiction of his early life.
